Inactive Yeast is rich in B Vitamins and is a complete protein with all 9 essential amino acids present.
It is nutritionally rich in folates, sillenium and zinc, and is a powerhouse of benefits to the immune system, having anti-bacterial properties as well as anti-viral.
It is often used in vegan diets to emulate cheese due to it's strong umami.. or 'cheese' like flavour. It can be used to thicken sauces, or sprinkled on any dish for an excellent nutritional boost.
Nutritional yeast has been made inactive by heating and roller-drying.
Therefore it is very different to traditional yeast, and has none of the effects of brewers Yeast.
