Quinoa pronounced 'keen-wa' is not a ‘grain’ but a plant seed related to green leafy vegetables like spinach.
Quinoa is naturally gluten-free and can be used in any way suitable for rice and, contains more protein and iron than any comparable grain, is higher in unsaturated fats, lower in carbohydrates, and a very good source of calcium, iron, phosphorous, all essential amino acids, B vitamins, vitamin E and A.
