Potato Starch Flour
Potato starch is a light flour used in creamy soups, to thicken sauces, and as a wheat flour-substitute to create fluffy light baked goods.
It can also be used as a standalone product for crisp batters or an addition to blends to add a crisp result.
There is also new ground-breaking research indicating the major benefit of this raw ground food as a resistant starch (RS). The benefits of resistant starches are emerging as highly beneficial to gut health. An effective prebiotic that has the ability to feed different species of beneficial gut bacteria, making potato starch not only a useful pantry staple, but a valuable nutritional contributor.
It is also sometimes used in natural poultices and basic mineral make-up powders such as rouge, blush, eye shadow, etc.
Cooking tip: If a recipe calls for 1 cup of all purpose flour, use 1/2 cup of potato starch flour.
